Job Description:
CLVIS - Director of Marketing POSITION SUMMARY This position is
responsible for leading development of business for a product or
group of products. This role requires managing the trading of
existing products which our company historically supports,
identifying potential new markets and creating a plan to enter
those markets, designing a new type of business including financing
arrangements, exclusive contracts for the manufacture of a product,
exclusive distribution rights both in the U.S. and abroad and
possible venture capital investment. Working closely with
department GM, incumbent leads development and implementation of
marketing strategies with meeting goals of the department and
company, develops budget and manages cost structure, assesses risk
profiles, provides direction, coaching, and guidance to marketing
team. Incumbent also builds and maintains strategic relationships
with key internal and external stakeholders and may oversee and
manage several cross-functional teams where applicable and handles
multiple projects simultaneously. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Leads
development and implementation of marketing strategies meeting
goals of the department and company, by working closely with
department GM, team-members, clients, suppliers, and/or agency
partners, to create effective plans. Develop budget, determines and
informs strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for
differentiation. Researches, analyzes, and stays up-to-date on
industry trends, economic environment, competitor’s
products/services to identify the best ways to deploy marketing
strategies and find areas for improvements and adjust when/where
necessary. Manages origination, development, and implementation of
marketing & sales plans, projects, any relevant programs to drive
sales growth and profitability enhancement. Identifying revenue
opportunities among established clients and by securing new
accounts, and add value propositions to maximize their growths, yet
by controlling any potential risk exposures. Requires cost
analyses, cash flow and working capital analyses to determine
appropriate purchasing and selling prices and secure appropriate
returns to investing capitals and exposing risk. The business may
be import, export, offshore or domestic. Requires engagement in
client and supplier’s financial review and arrangements, business
requirement reviews, supply-chain designing and control, contract
reviews and negotiations, risk profile assessment and manage the
potential associated risks to minimize. Review, determine, and
maintains good credit status of client, supplier, and vendors,
working closely with Risk Management Department. Monitors payment
status of overseeing businesses. Address and resolve challenges as
they occur. Manages the preparation of documents required for
processing of the business transaction. May coordinate and delegate
some of these to the administration or operations staff. May be
responsible for management of a subsidiary that originated from a
segment of Mitsui business. Monitors market situation and economic
environment to deploy successful and timely marketing efforts and
to enforce appropriate business management (orders, inventories,
pricing, etc.). Overseeing overall marketing strategies of
marketing team, provides training, coaching, and develops team
members. Allocate budget and resources to ensure best approach and
maximum cost-efficiency. Identify and track relevant performance
indicators to ensure alignment with company goals and make
recommendations on possible improvement opportunities. Builds and
maintains strategic relationships with key internal and external.
stakeholders. Develops networks at high level in targeting
industries and aggregate market intelligence to determine potential
opportunities and promote business development effectively.
Oversees and manages several cross-functional teams where
applicable and handles multiple projects simultaneously.
Participates in projects as assigned by manager. DESIRABLE
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Minimum fifteen (15)
years’ experience or a combination of training and experience which
indicates the ability to do the job. Requires thorough knowledge of
international trade procedures, customs laws, bookkeeping
principles, etc. Requires extensive knowledge of procedures for
shipping, air transportation, freight forwarders. Strong
mathematical and analytical skills, comfortable working with
numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with
spreadsheets. Excellent time-management and multitasking
capabilities. Excellent leadership skills, communication, and
decision-making skills. Self-driven, ability to work independently
with minimal supervision. Excellent project management skills.
Proven ability to plan and manage budgets. Working knowledge of
Word and Excel, and the operation of a PC. Must have a network of
business contacts and extensive knowledge of the product(s) that
are to be sold, such as technical workings of the project,
environmental and economic situations that would affect usage, and
how the buyers use it. Excellent communication and negotiation
skills required. Should possess the ability to adapt to a
cross-cultural environment. This position description is intended
