Consisting of 14 full-time and 15 affiliated faculty, HBHS is one of two departments in the UNTHSC School of Public Health. The goal of the HBHS department is to help communities and health systems improve policy, management, and public health practice. Graduates of our MPH, MHA, MS and PhD programs assume positions in healthcare, business, human services, research, and academic settings. Our faculty are widely recognized for their innovative teaching and impactful research. Their work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control, National Science Foundation, and many other national, state and local agencies. Faculty are widely published in the areas of patient safety, disease control, health disparities and underserved populations, women's and children's health, participatory research, substance abuse prevention, and online/m-health interventions. HBHS faculty have received national and international awards for their work bridging teaching, research and practice. The department recognizes the benefits derived from a diverse community of scholars. As such, we particularly welcome candidates from groups that are historically underrepresented in our field and/or have demonstrated leadership toward building an equitable and inclusive scholarly environment.

Our CAHME-accredited MHA program enrolls approximately 50 students led by faculty active with regional and national partners. The Department has strong linkages with community agencies and health centers, regional healthcare systems, and state and national health services delivery systems. These partnerships provide opportunities for teaching, internship placements, and employment for our students.

Position Summary

The Department of Health Behavior and Health Systems in the School of Public Health at the University of North Texas in Fort Worth is seeking adjunct faculty in the field of health administration. Adjunct faculty plans courses and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertakes the professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. Successful applicants will be expected to provide instruction in core areas of healthcare administration education, including:

* Healthcare Finance
* Economics
* Management
* Strategy
* Data Management
* Operations

Minimum Qualifications

* Commitment to the education and advancement of students from under-represented minority and/or historically marginalized communities
* A masters degree in health administration, public health (with a focus in health management, administration, or policy), or a closely related field
* Enthusiasm for teaching courses that may include healthcare management, strategy, operations or leadership
* Experience with interprofessional/interdisciplinary education or practice

Preferred Qualifications

* Terminal degree in a healthcare related field or a graduate degree
* Previous senior level leadership experience within a healthcare organization
* A strong record of effectively teaching graduate courses in healthcare management or a closely related field
