Senior Advisor, Technical Writer Job Summary: Talent Software
Services is in search of a Senior Advisor, Technical Writer for a
contract position in Round Rock, TX. The opportunity will be seven
months with a strong chance for a long-term extension. Primary
Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Write, edit, and proof hardcopy
and online documents for consistency, including reference documents
for hardware and software products, code, user interface tests,
white papers, Application Program Interface and Command Line
Interface Documentation, and online help systems. Ensure all
deliverables are technically and mechanically accurate. Collaborate
with department team members, engineering, marketing, services,
legal, regulatory, and others to develop content for standard
documentation sets, software, and special initiatives in line with
the development cycle. Create and manage document schedules,
content management, and information architecture. Define processes
for content modification, content globalization, content
sensitivity, and content accessibility/disability (508). Maintain
content, tools, application access, account administration, and
workflow administration. Train outside business groups as needed on
tools, applications, reporting, and content workflow needs. Define,
ratify, document, and monitor documentation management processes
and procedures to comply with ISO and internal quality standards.
Write, edit, structure, and develop new modules for a whole product
line with multiple levels of complexity. Own the whole life cycle
from inception to delivery for a line of business. Review, update,
and implement process improvements and quality control improvements
for the department. Work cross-functionally with other departments
to gather and document all necessary requirements for document
production. Perform moderate to advanced levels of complex work
with little to no daily direction by management. Manage multiple
projects that are highly complex in scope, encompassing various
levels of the business. Train, coach, and mentor less experienced
team members. Perform as a project lead within the department. May
perform as product line lead within the department. Qualifications:
8 years of related experience in a professional role with a
Bachelor's degree. Strong technical concept acumen to understand,
evaluate, and document technical processes, requirements, and
assurance procedures. Write, edit, and proofread technical policy,
standard, and implementation requirements documents, ensuring
consistency across various types of documentation. Collaborate with
security and resiliency technical control owners to develop content
for standard documentation sets, in alignment with organizational
framework and content schema, and mapped to appropriate personas
and asset types. Strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking
skills to understand advanced technical concepts, implementation
nuances, and exercise independent judgment for obtaining results.
Manage schedules for document creation, define and implement
processes for modifying content, ensuring global relevance,
sensitivity, and accessibility compliance. Preferred: 6 years with
a Master's degree; or 3 years with a PhD; or equivalent experience.
