Overview Suncoast Post Tension, Ltd. is an established post tension and rebar manufacturing company that has been in business for over 30 years. We supply construction related materials to builders from one of our nine facilities in the US. We are seeking a highly motivated Lean Manufacturing Specialist. Responsibilities Responsibilities: A Lean Manufacturing Specialist is a professional who typically works in the manufacturing sector where they are responsible for improving production processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. They apply lean manufacturing methodologies, a system that aims to eliminate waste in all forms in a manufacturing process while ensuring quality. This includes waste of overproduction, time, transport, processing, inventory, motion, and defects. The lean manufacturing specialist reviews current production processes and identifies areas where waste can be minimized or eliminated. They also design and implement new, streamlined procedures, often working closely with production managers and employees to ensure these processes are understood and followed. Additionally, they conduct training programs for staff to educate them about lean manufacturing principles and how to apply them in their day-to-day work. They may also be responsible for gathering and analyzing production data to measure the impact of their lean manufacturing strategies and make necessary adjustments. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation/Controls. Required background: Lean Manufacturing Specialists typically have a background in industrial or mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field. Entry-level Lean Manufacturing Specialists often have 1 to 2 years of experience, either through an internship or a part-time role in a manufacturing or production setting. This provides them with hands-on experience in analyzing workflows, developing lean strategies, and implementing continuous improvement processes. Knowledge Skills & Abilities: A proficient Lean Manufacturing Specialist should possess a range of technical, analytical and interpersonal skills, including: In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, tools and techniques to optimize production processes and minimize waste. Ability to analyze production systems and workflows, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and propose effective solutions. Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise in the production process and implement effective corrective actions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, convey complex ideas in a comprehensible manner, and influence positive change. Project management skills to plan, execute, and oversee improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to understand trends, make informed decisions, and measure the impact of implemented changes. Knowledge of quality control standards and safety regulations to ensure that all work is performed in compliance with these guidelines. Physical stamina and ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and working with machinery.
