Place to Work. Summary We’re looking for a Project Manager to help
lead and expand our Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources practice
in Central Texas . In this role, you’ll work with new and existing
clients to pursue, manage, and deliver projects that strengthen
local infrastructure and improve the quality of life in our
communities. Our team provides planning, design, and
construction-phase services for a wide range of projects — from
wastewater treatment plant upgrades and collection system
improvements to drinking water plant design and water distribution
systems . This is an opportunity to lead meaningful projects, build
client relationships, and play a key role in growing HR Green’s
presence in the region. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management Estimates hours, drafts a budget and defines the
project understanding to build the scope and contract. Builds and
manages the Project Plan that includes phases, tasks, resources,
timelines, contingencies and description of critical paths.
Oversees the technical direction and manages project resources to
meet or exceed the budget and schedule. Conducts kickoff and
regular project meetings where the schedule, project plan, and
client expectations are regularly discussed to ensure delivery
stays on track to meet client expectations. Initiates changes in
scope, addendums and change orders necessary to ensure financial
performance of projects under management. Client Management
Identifies client needs and meets the expectations and requirements
of internal and external customers. Recommends additional business
solutions to meet a client’s current and/or future needs. Interacts
independently with client technical and mid-level staff and
supports Senior Project Managers and other senior staff in the
execution of client management plans. Attends client meetings,
including client council, committee, board meetings as required to
represent the firm and present project work. Business Development
Serves as representative of firm in client interactions and
communications. Provides information to assist pursuit proposals.
Monitors and tracks the release of solicitations from clients.
Meets or exceeds assigned sales targets by successfully pursuing
and winning projects from existing clients. Utilizes targeted
marketing efforts to win new business. May act as pursuit lead for
projects and generally supports others in strategic pursuits. Leads
the project proposal development and participates in the interview
preparation phases to win pursuits. Coordinates the creation of
proposal/pursuit information with business line and marketing
staff. Team Leadership Identifies the time and resources needed to
deliver the project and builds an effective team. Manages projects
by assigning tasks and closely monitoring project budget and
schedule. Holds team members accountable for achieving the scoped
results on a project. Leads Project Team Meetings and distributes
meeting minutes to team and the client as appropriate. Resolves
conflicts by ensuring they are addressed immediately and in an
appropriate manner. Uses interpersonal skills to diffuse issues
between team members. Project Financials Monitors and resolves such
issues as scope creep, cost overruns, billing issues and delays.
Develops and maintains project tracking tools that clearly identify
potential or expected project impacts and develops solutions.
Ensures that project is billed according to the contract and billed
on time. Maintains overall profitability targets for projects.
Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in related
engineering discipline. Professionally registered (P.E.) in the
state of Texas. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a PE. Has a
work history demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects
and teams. Demonstrated strong customer focus by obtaining repeat
client work and cross-selling additional consulting services. Has a
history of successfully completing complex projects for small to
large client bases. Is actively involved in one or more industry
professional organizations. Ability to travel and meet with clients
both virtually and in person as needed. Certificates, Licenses, and
Registrations Must possess a current, valid Professional Engineer
(P.E.) license and have the ability to obtain licensure in one or
more other states in which HR Green conducts business. The employee
must be capable of driving/operating a motor vehicle for company
business, and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of
