Job Description:
Structural Project Manager
Structural Project Managers with Gessner Engineering perform and
oversee engineering design, facilitate client interactions, and
lead a team of engineers on a variety of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating project needs internally and externally
- Time and Budget/ Resource Management
- Manage a team of EITs and student interns
- Perform/oversee and guide team in the design and analysis for a
variety of projects including residential, commercial, higher
education, and public infrastructure.
- Prepare/ oversee production of construction documents,
specifications, and other engineering documents and reports.
- Perform sites visits to collect forensics and as-built data and
conduct construction administration duties.
- Coordinate, supervise, and review work performed on delegated
tasks to team.
- Conduct internal QA/QC reviews of work completed by peers.
- Collaborate in a team setting with department members and other
design disciplines such as geotechnical, civil, construction
material testing and external sub-consultants and clients, as
necessary, for project coordination. Education/ Experience:
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering
- Preferred: Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- 5-10 years of engineering experience with project management
experience
- Experience in the use of various structural design codes and
specifications including but not limited to IBC, IRC, ASCE 7, ACI,
PCI, AISC, NDS, and TMS
- Experience in design and detailing of various construction
materials, including steel, cold formed metal framing, conventional
and post-tensioned concrete, concrete masonry, and conventional and
engineered wood
- Experience in the design and analysis of building
structures
- Experience in the development of comprehensive construction
documents Skills and special requirements/licensing:
- Registered P.E. in the state of Texas
- Bluebeam, Autodesk REVIT, RISA, or RAM Structural System
experience is a plus.
- Being solutions-minded and self-initiating
