Travel: 35-60% domestic and international

Overview:
System One is assisting a global battery materials and specialty chemical company in hiring a Sales Managers to support its North American growth strategy. This position is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in The Woodlands, TX.

The Sales Manager will lead business development and account strategy efforts across key automotive and Tier 1 manufacturing customers. This is a high-impact role responsible for expanding the company's footprint in the North American battery market. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in chemical materials and experience managing large enterprise relationships across technical and commercial functions.

Qualifications:

Master's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline
5-8 years of technical B2B sales experience in the chemical materials or battery industry
Deep knowledge of electrolytes, lithium-ion battery systems, and OEM purchasing cycles
Proven track record of managing strategic accounts and closing large deals
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages, especially mandarin is an added plus, but this role works with the American market primarily
Willingness to travel extensively (50%+), including regular domestic trips and international events
Experience in green hydrogen, ammonia, or related specialty chemical markets is a plus



Responsibilities: Own and drive account strategy, relationship management, and revenue growth with key OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
Translate customer needs into actionable internal plans across sales, technical, and R&D teams
Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and commercial planning
Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations and proposals
Maintain regular in-person engagement with clients through site visits, meetings, and presentations
Monitor market trends and identify business development opportunities
Collaborate cross-functionally to support new product introductions and customer onboarding
Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, reporting, and market intelligence
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences
Act as the internal advocate for customer needs, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and business objectives
