Responsibilities For more than 50 years, Northwest Behavioral
Health has provided mental health treatment to individuals from
Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado. Located on the campus of
Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas, we offer
behavioral health treatment services for children, adolescents,
adults, seniors and uniformed service members.-- Our facility has 6
inpatient units with 106 beds. Additional services we offer include
24 hours a day free behavioral health assessments, partial
hospitalization and intensive outpatient mental health and
substance use programs, clinic-based psychiatry and therapy
services. New service offerings coming in 2021 include ECT, virtual
reality exposure therapy, bio neurofeedback and CBT-I for insomnia.

primary function of the Mental Health Technician (MHT) is to ensure
patient safety.-- The Mental Health Technician functions as an
active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient
care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients
ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics depending on which
unit worked.-- MHT's work under the direction of a Registered
Nurse.--Position: Technician - Mental Health/Behavioral Health (No
Degree)
- Participates in the implementation of the Plan of Care
- Performs clinical skills based on specific patient
populations
- Performs timely and accurate clinical documentation and
communication
- Assures patient's rights and safety concerns are identified and
considered
- Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and
practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer
groups
- Provides transportation for Partial Hospital patients and
attends to partial hospital patient needs Qualifications EDUCATION,
TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:----
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association and
maintain certification throughout employment
- Must possess one of the following: --
- CNA Certificate 2 years' experience
providing patient care EMT Certification Currently enrolled in LVN,
ADN, or BSN School of Nursing with completion of Fundamentals
Medical Assistant Certification
