Job Title: Cath Lab Technician Profession: Cath Lab Technician Specialty: Cath Lab Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the state medical board required prior to hire date Certifications: BLS Provider obtained within 30 days of hire date required Must-Have: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from a recognized organization or Cardiac Tech specializing in Electrophysiology credentialed from a recognized organization preferred Description: Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. Observe patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted. Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Be able to perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angiography, complex vascular and non-vascular interventional and therapeutic procedures, along with assisting the Radiologist/PA. Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards. Education requirement includes high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience or an associate's or technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required. Experience in multiple modalities including Trauma, Interventional Radiology, Neuro, Cardiovascular, and Vascular is preferred. Must be able to respond within 30 minutes during call shifts.
