Job Description:
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Pediatric Intensive Care
Unit (PICU) is a vital member of the healthcare team who is
responsible for overseeing the nursing operations within the PICU.
This role entails ensuring high-quality patient care, supervising
nursing staff, coordinating effective patient treatment plans, and
enhancing patient safety and satisfaction. The Clinical Nurse
Coordinator PICU plays a key role in managing resources, improving
operational efficiencies, and facilitating communication among
patients, families, and healthcare professionals. This position is
pivotal in creating a nurturing environment that supports the
emotional and physical well-being of critically ill or injured
children. Supervise and lead nursing staff within the PICU to
ensure optimal patient care. Develop and implement standards,
policies, and procedures that comply with professional standards
and regulatory requirements. Participate in hiring, training, and
evaluating nursing staff performances. Coordinate patient care with
multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, specialists, social
workers, and other health professionals. Manage patient records,
ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date. Address and resolve any
issues that may affect patient care or the operation of the unit.
Monitor patient care for quality, advocating for patient rights and
the highest ethical standards. Support the professional development
and education of the nursing team by identifying educational
opportunities and needs. Advanced knowledge of pediatric nursing
practices and pediatric healthcare. Excellent leadership and team
management skills. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and
healthcare professionals. Expertise in interpreting clinical data
and making informed treatment decisions. Proficient in the use of
