Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a board-certified or
board-eligible Colon and Rectal Surgery physician for a faculty
position focused on clinical care, teaching, and research in colon,
rectal, and anal cancer. The role includes providing specialized
surgical care, mentoring trainees, and contributing to scholarly
activities with potential for extramural funding. Candidates must
have an M.D., appropriate licensure, and relevant clinical or
academic experience in surgical oncology. The University of Texas
MD Anderson Cancer Center, Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery
is seeking to recruit an academic surgeon to join our faculty. The
major criteria for appointment are excellence in the overall mix of
clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances
clinical medicine, and institutional service. Currently we are
actively recruiting for an Assistant or Associate Professor
position with eligibility for term tenure track or clinical faculty
track appointment dependent upon the candidate’s interests and
qualifications. Prerequisites include board-certification or
board-eligibility in Colon and Rectal Surgery or in Complex General
Surgical Oncology with a focused experience in the
multidisciplinary treatment of patients with Colon, Rectal, and
Anal Cancer. The desired candidate will have a strong commitment to
clinical excellence, mentorship, scholarship and teamwork.
Responsibilities will include providing clinical expertise in colon
and rectal surgical care in a multidisciplinary setting,
maintaining the programmatic excellence of our comprehensive colon
and rectal cancer program, educating the trainees in our Advanced
Colon and Rectal Surgical Oncology, Complex General Surgery
Oncology, or affiliated residency and fellowship programs, and
developing a robust clinical, health services, data and
informatics, or translational science research program. The ideal
candidate will have substantial scholarly activity and a high
likelihood of obtaining extramural funding to support their
scholarly activity. In addition to a competitive base salary, this

equivalent degree Eligible for unrestricted license to practice in
the State of Texas Board certified in General Surgery and either
Colon and Rectal Surgery or Complex General Surgical Oncology (or
obtained within departmental timeline) Five years post clinical
degree with any combination of time as: clinician, clinical
scientist, or GME trainee Curriculum Vitae representative of prior
scholarly and/or service accomplishments commensurate with the
qualifications of faculty appointment within the department
