CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital is level II Trauma hospital located in Bryan, TX. Our Womens Service line consists of Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Postpartum, Pediatrics & level II NICU. We are looking for an experienced, energetic leader to partner with our team.

**This role also comes with a $15,000.00 Relocation Bonus for qualified candidates**.


Department Leadership:

Directs the ongoing day to day operations of assigned clinical unis/areas. Establishes Scope of Care appropriate for patients served and in accordance with national and evidenced based standards. Participates with other leaders in planning for the future needs of assigned units/areas in accordance with SJRHC Strategic Plan. Communicates effectively with all staff. Develops, reviews and enforces policies, procedures and processes that support established standards. Works with House Supervisor and others to ensure appropriate staffing to meet expected care outcomes. Attends and contributes a nursing perspective to various hospital and department committees. Identifies problems, seeks consultation as appropriate, takes appropriate steps to resolve and reports outcomes as needed. Able to provide direct patient care as needed.

Employee Development:

Recruits, motivates, coaches and supports staff. Establishes and monitors expected competencies for each level of staff. Works with individual staff to identify personal goals and establish a learning framework to encourage growth. Works with Education Department and others to develop inservices, workshops, etc to meet unique unit specialty education and skill needs. Promotes a hospital perspective and establishes expectations for staff for individual contribution and accountability for meeting hospital, department and unit operational and financial goals. Advances employee satisfaction by being available, open to ideas, listening and involving staff in change and improvement. Identifies staff who are having a negative impact and takes appropriate action to mitigate behavior. Identifies needs and seeks opportunities for own learning and development

Quality Care/Clinical Performance:

Oversees the unit Clinical Practice Committee. Monitors clinical outcome and other performance data and shares with staff. Utilizes available data to identify opportunities for improvement and directs unit based PI functions. Assures the practice of sound evidenced based nursing care through ongoing monitoring and improving of practice. Works with hospital and department PI Teams and Committees in participant and leadership roles. Reports concerns with medical practice as needed. Meets all specified indicators listed on Department Performance Scorecard.

Environment and Patient Safety:

Works to maintain and support a safe unit environment. Equipment made available for staff and maintained in good working order. Process and other changes made to improve patient safety are well communicated to staff. BMV scanning rates comply with current policy. Reports all patient safety and hazard concerns immediately.

Physician Relations:

Develops relationships with physicians who routinely practice within assigned units/areas to understand their perspective and needs. Utilizes meetings and personal conversations to obtain feedback from key users regarding issues and dissatisfactions. Works to resolve problems in an expedient manor. Consistently provides feedback to physicians on identified concerns. Works to improve physician satisfaction with hospital, nursing care and assigned units/areas. Engages physicians as partners to improve patient care.

Qualifications Experience - (3) Three years of Clinical Leadership

Education - Master's Degree

Licensure\Certification - Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas. BLS \ ACLS
