Under direction of the charge nurse and/or team leader,
collaborates with co-workers on a daily basis to help ensure
uniform standards of care and is responsible for performing duties
for assigned nursing units. Demonstrates competency in the care
and/or service to our patients/customers. Performs and prioritizes
assigned duties and procedures in accordance with established
methods and techniques as defined by policy. Responsible for
performing care and clerical duties and maintaining records for

Exhibits proper customer service skills with all customers,
families and co-workers. Strives to exemplify the St. Joseph

patient status to appropriate nurse. Promptly responds to patient

Assistant and/or Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee and charge

Performs/Provides Patient Care as Delegated by the Nurse
Assists Certified Nursing Assistants with bedside nursing care
(e.g., baths, linen change, oral care, back rubs, toileting and
repositioning patients). Assists Certified Nursing Assistants with
patient needs such as ambulation and transfers to/from wheelchair,
stretcher and/or bed, using proper body mechanics. Transports
patients to rooms, other departments and vehicles. Sets up room for
new admissions and assists with orientation of room, equipment and
supplies. Verifies diet list and trays for accuracy before
assisting Certified Nursing Assistants in passing out meal trays.
Assists Certified Nursing Assistants with feeding and assisting
patients with meals. Obtains VS, daily patient weights and
Documents patient care correctly in Point of Care. Assembles
charts for new admissions. Ensures chart has adequate supply of
forms. Enters work orders into PHIL.
Learning and Development - Orients new personnel as assigned.
Attends a minimum of six unit meetings per year, assuming
responsibility for understanding and acknowledging minutes of unit
meetings missed. Attends all required in-services and completes
annual competencies. Willingly completes other tasks when
Environment and Patient Safety - Maintains patient and work
environment to maximize safe/clean working space. Reports all
hazards to the charge nurse. Adheres to proper precautions,
techniques and safety according to Infection Control policies.
Works with, cleans up and disposes of body fluids, blood and
Supplies - Demonstrates stewardship of equipment and supplies by
using them appropriately. Maintains adequate supply of items in
