Job Description:

The Ombudsman Program advocates for nursing home and assisted living facility residents.This part-time temporary position is for an individual designated by the Local OmbudsmanEntity and State Long-Term Care Ombudsman to carry out the duties of the Ombudsman Program.Duties include visits to assigned facilities regularly to ensure that residents have timely access to ombudsmanservices and receive timely responses to complaints; identify, investigate and resolve complaints from residents,families and friends, consistent with guidance from the supervising Staff Ombudsman; provide information andresources to individuals seeking information about long-term care, services or support; participate in otherOmbudsman activities like Care Plan Meetings, Surveys, Resident/Family Council Meetings and Outreach eventsas well as enter data in Wellsky, a software used by the Ombudsman Program. High School Diploma or GED required.Two to three years' experience in social services or a related field required. Must have ability to communicate orally andin writing on a professional level, must be reliable and demonstrate capability of handling sensitive and confidential informationand must be knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of the Ombudsman rules, regulations and residentsrights; problem solving skills and the ability to interact in an unbiased, objective and diplomatic manner.iSalary: $13.50 per houri
