Job DescriptionRESPONSIBILITIES: For assigned programs, serve as the Primary Point of contact for the Finance Department with Program Management. Provide reports with analysis including Cost Analysis for all levels of internal management and external stakeholders.


--- Responsible for ensuring adequate financial system is maintained to satisfy requirements of management; monitors and auditors; and all other stakeholders.--- Assist in the development and maintenance of the department-wide accounting system to include systematic integration with budgets.--- Document and streamline processes.--- Make recommendations for Software acquisition; upgrades; and integration with General Ledger.

Budgeting and Cost Analysis

--- Participate in the development of a budget/reporting system that is systematically integrated with accounting.--- Participate in the development of Annual Budgets; Amended/ Adjusted Budgets; Budget based Program reports; and Cost Proposals including cost allocation plans.--- Participate in the development of management reports (cost analysis) based on Budgets and Program Accounting.

Cash Management

--- Serve as a member of the Finance Department Cash Management Team and provide related reporting and analysis of assigned accounts.--- Review and analyze accounting and bank records for program oversight and compliance.

Reporting and Documentation

--- Document and Streamline Processes.--- Prepare monthly internal financial/management reports with financial analysis of operations.--- Maintain current and accurate process documentation; desk procedures; and process flow diagrams.--- Assist the Director of Finance with annual financial audit and monitoring activities by funding agencies.--- Assist the Director of Finance in the preparation of the annual cost allocation plan and periodic budget modifications throughout the fiscal year.--- Performs any and all other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Finance or the Executive Director.



--- College degree required (Accounting, Finance, or related business fields are preferred).--- Understanding of Non-Profit Accounting Processes.--- Understanding of accounting principles; budgeting; reporting; and cost accounting principles.--- Good written and oral communication skills.--- A mature, professional demeanor.


--- Advanced degree is preferred.--- Actively working toward CPA certification, if not already obtained.--- 0 -3 years of recent work experience in the field of accounting, preferably as an auditor, in the area of nonprofit/governmental accounting or at a public accounting firm.--- Ability to work days that may exceed 8 hours(on rare occasion), including early mornings, nights, and weekends. This is generally only necessary during our annual external audits or state/federal monitoring visits.

Greater than 90% of work-weeks are a standard 8-5 with no overtime necessary. This is NOT a public accounting firm so work-life balance isn't a concern as you will rarely work more than 40 hours in a week.
