Our greatest scientific solution is bringing talented people together who have a passion for advancing plant-based biologics for our customers and the world.Apply now for our Environmental Monitoring Technician position and help bring the power of plants to the biopharmaceutical industry!Mission of the PositionThe Environmental Monitoring Technician will support the facility as a member of the Quality Control team and will be responsible for all environmental monitoring activities.Position SummaryThe Environmental Monitoring Technician performs tests for monitoring environmental conditions throughout the facility during routine and sterile filling activities and maintains all documentation for traceability (surface, water, air, etc.). The person in this role will also perform designated testing, monitoring, calibration, and maintenance of lab equipment in conjunction with approved procedures and test methodologies.Work LocationThe Environmental Technician position is located in Bryan, Texas.Essential Duties & Responsibilities* Collect routine EM samples in ISO classified cleanrooms; sample types include air viable, surface viable, and air non-viable monitoring* Sample purified water system at locations for subsequent analysis for Bioburden, TOC, and Conductivity* Maintain and record data clearly and precisely on worksheets and reports* Perform assigned sampling tasks carefully and on schedule according to standard operating procedures and supervisor instruction* Perform identification and related testing in conjunction with microbial contamination* Maintain an organism library while documenting and archiving new organisms found in cleanrooms* Keep track of supplies and request items in a timely manner* Other duties as requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities* Knowledge of cGMP, GDP and Cleanroom experience strongly preferred* Able to learn new techniques/skills with proficiency* Able to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, or as a team member* Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and an understanding of good lab safety practices* Proficient with Microsoft Office applicationsEducation & Experience* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in scientific or related discipline/field* A minimum of one year of related experience is required; three plus years of related experience is preferred* Quality control and bio-pharmaceutical experience preferred Associated topics: air, air monitoring, biodiversity, conservation, ecology, environmental, environmental science, sustainability, waste, water monitoring
