and diagnostic services.**Responsibilities****JOB SUMMARY**+
Coordinate and participate in a variety of technical tasks, tests
and determinations involving the utilization of radioactive
materials and measurement instrumentation.**ACCOUNTABILITIES**+
**ESSENTIAL**1. Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to
provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and
their family.2. Acts professionally in all dealings with internal
and external customers to promote a working environment that
focuses on the patient experience and not operational rivalries or
roadblocks to care. Establishes and maintains lines of
communication with all other staff members and radiologist to
insure an effective and harmonious working environment.
Communicates effectively with patients and their families about the
procedure to be performed in order to obtain information and to
offer reassurance.3. Coordinate and participate in a variety of
technical procedures to include in vivo and in vitro studies;
operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation
including stationary imaging devices, scintillation gamma and
apparatus for in vitro counting.4. Calibrate and draw up
radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients;
formulate radiopharmaceutical materials from pre-prepared kits.
Calibrate instruments and review calibration data to detect trends
indicating instrument malfunction. Calculate data to include
results of patient studies and radioactive decay. Evaluate recorded
images for technical quality.5. Process computerized image data to
include function curves and reconstructed SPECT images.6. Perform
Nuclear Cardiology studies including image acquisition, processing
and monitoring patient vital signs. Perform EKG prep, tracing and
monitors for obvious change during cardiac studies. Assist in
quality assurance program relating to calibration and maintenance
of equipment. Act in a team leader capacity. Assist with the
education and training of new physicians (interns, residents,
fellows).7. Assists in the development and evaluation of new
procedures and techniques to meet the needs of specific protocols
as required. Consult with physician concerning the application of
nuclear medicine procedures and techniques.8. Performs other duties
as assigned to meet the organization`s
needs.**Qualifications****QUALIFICATIONS**+ **Education**+
Required: Associate degree (2yr program) or equivalent+ Preferred:
Bachelor`s degree (e.g. BA, BS, BSN, BSW)+ **Major**+ Required:
Requires successful completion of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine
Technology training program+ **Experience**+ Required: One to two
years+ Preferred: Two to three years+ **Skills**+ Required: Ability
to use office related computer software; Possess knowledge of
radiation protection and safety+ **Licensure/Certifications**+
Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or
CNMT in the specialty(ies) as appropriate/MRT. American Heart
Association BLS CPR obtained before hire.**Equal
