Job Description:
SUMMARY: Resource Room Navigator is responsible for ensuring the
highest level of customer service and ensuring customers are guided
and directed to appropriate services and programs within the center
and in the community based on their individual needs.Bottom of Form
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Adheres to the mission of SERCO. 2.
Maintains daily operations of Resource Room. 3. Set reasonable
customer satisfaction goals and work with the team to meet them on
a consistent basis. 4. Interact with customers on a daily basis,
responding to their questions and guiding them to the appropriate
service. 5. Implement customer service policies and procedures 6.
Define and communicate customer service standards 7. Shows interest
and concern for all customers, treating them with respect and care.
8. Ensure the necessary resources and tools are available for
quality customer service - - - - - delivery 9. Assists customers in
navigating computer-based information sources such as America's Job
Bank, Work in Texas. 10. Assists customers with preparation of
resumes and applications. 11. Explains to customer varieties of
software programs available for their use. 12. Monitors computers
and printers to insure they are in good working order. Performs
limited troubleshooting of personal computers and submits request
for in-depth maintenance when required. 13. Operates and monitors
use of fax, copier and phone bank. 14. Obtains and maintains
occupational and labor market information. 15. Make career/job
information available through computer and printed material. 16.
Maintains information on self-assessment, career planning,
occupations, employment opportunities, job market conditions, and
other relevant trends. 17. Keeps an accurate usage record for
Resource Room on a daily basis. Performs data entry for various
reports. 18. Assists in maintaining inventory of available Resource
Room materials. Responsible for the custody, care, and safekeeping
of agency property and exercises control over expendable supplies.
19. Performs other related duties as assigned. DESIRED KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of and the ability to learn a
variety of relevant computer software programs, computer and other
office equipment, and the Internet. 2. Interact with customers in a
positive and productive manner. Ability to organize work
requirements. 3. Excellent communications skills. Bilingual
(English/Spanish) preferred. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 1. High
school graduate or GED certificate. 2. Experience using a variety
of computer software programs. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must
possess and provide a valid Texas Driver's License and Automobile
Liability Insurance as required by the State of Texas. 2. Must have
access to reliable transportation in order to travel within service
area. Must have Physical demands and work environment: The physical
demands and work environment characteristics describe here are
representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 1.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing duties of the job, employees is
occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; for long periods of
time. Employees must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25
pounds, must be able to set up display area. 2. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Fast paced, demanding physically and mentally, will be in constant
communications.
