Strengthen community involvement through promotion of volunteerism among members of the community and residents. The goal of resident programs is to enhance residents living experience within their community, enhance their quality of life and promote their overall well-being. The Wellness & Engagement Coordinator must always present a cheerful, helpful attitude in his/her work with the public.REPORTS TO:Department: Wellness & EngagementPrimary: Wellness & Engagement DirectorFLSA STATUS:Non-ExemptSALARY:$15.50/hourSENIOR LIVING WELLNESS & ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:Degree in Recreational Therapy preferred with certificates required in senior exercise, balance training, brain fitness for seniors and personal trainingExperience in activity planning with older adults preferredValid state Drivers License with a clean driving recordAbility to drive 14 passenger busAppreciation of older adults and ability to build relationships with themExcellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skillsExperience working with volunteer groupsDemonstrated team oriented and collaborative work style and willingness to assist team mates as needed to get the job doneExcellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to audienceExceptional ability to create, organize, prioritize and multi-task in an extremely dynamic environmentKnowledge of fire, safety, and infection control proceduresSENIOR LIVING WELLNESS & ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:Implement fitness & wellness programs and engagement that enrich whole-person wellness in the following categories: physical, social, intellectual, spiritual, and special requests of the residentsFacilitate socialization among residentsInvite and remind residents to participate in planned activitiesPromote wellness & engagement in a way that generates residents interestsGreet visitors in a friendly, courteous and professional mannerChaperone activities outside the residenceConduct and lead activitiesVisit with each new resident to identify hobbies and interestsMaintain a resident information book identifying hobbies and interests of each residentPlan, coordinate and appropriately decorate the residence for special events, seasons and holidaysIdentify and order necessary supplies for planned activities, within the guidelines of the budgetAssist with coordinating food requirements for scheduled activities with dining associatesAssist with planning and implementing marketing events that promote the community to prospective residentsAssist the Wellness & Engagement Director with the monthly newsletter for residents and family membersArrange transportation for activity outings and regularly scheduled group tripsDrive the company vehicle for resident activities and appointments, as neededAssist in serving meals, clearing tables and clean up after meals, as neededIdentify and contact local organizations that could benefit from the talents of residentsPerform other duties as assigned by the Wellness & Engagement Director or General ManagerREQUIRED COMPETENCIES:Ability and desire to work as a team member and provide services to residentsMaintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, employees and community operationsAbility to foster trust and build strong relationships with residents, team members, peers and senior leadershipAdaptability- able to change tasks quickly as business needs dictateStrong attention to detailAbility to execute under pressurePromote Parc Communities in a positive wayEmployees will always work to the standards defined in the Parc 20 Basics, The Four Steps of Service, and the Parc Communities CredoNeat appearance, adherence to dress code and good personal hygiene is expectedWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS/TRAVEL REQUIRMENTS:Working hours are as agreed with the Wellness & Engagement Director. Weekend duty can be expectedWorking conditions will be both in and outdoors. Inclement weather conditions may be experiencedConvey a positive and professional image to residents, family members, visitors and co-workersEstablish and maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, residents, and families and visitorsAbility and knowledge to use gym fitness equipment with the physical requirements being met to allow use and continued training as neededFitness and balance training require hands-on work with the residents and proper lifting and motion policies must be followedPossible exposure to unpleasant odorsPossible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS ManualPossible exposure to verbal aggression from vendors, guests, residents and/or family members.Continuous exposure to clients and/or family members who may be under stressWork may involve lifting resident luggage or grocery bags (up to 50 pounds, using proper body mechanics)Mobility is necessary to sit, stand, walk and tour the community by footMust be able to climb and descend stairsIt is the policy of Parc Communities to provide equal employment opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
