Job Description Baylor Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital /n Job Title: RN /n Location: Temple, TX /n Job Status/Hours: Part-Time, Days, (2) 12-hour shifts per week /n Department: Skilled Nursing Unit /n Unit Specifics: 23 beds, 5:1 nurse/patient ratio /n Baylor Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital – Temple is a 48-bed, highly advanced medical facility offering private treatment rooms and 24-hour access to a team of physicians located in Temple, Texas. /n Our modern, patient-focused facility delivers comprehensive therapies for patients requiring extended hospital stays. Rather than chronic care, the Baylor Scott & White Continuing Care Hospital provides acute care, which involves active but short-term treatment following a severe medical condition or during recovery from surgery. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. /n Essential Functions of the Role /n /n - As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. /n - Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families. /n - Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues. /n - You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly. /n - Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly. /n - You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery. /n - Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. Qualifications - Grad of an Accredited Program - Specialized field of study should be nursing. - RN license. - Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
