Job Description:
ADVANCED QUALITY ENGINEER Essential Functions/Duties: Fulfill
customers Quality deliverables for all project requirements and OPM
QM PAUPAB requirements in Project Gates. Use of QBIS and Tempo for
monitoring supplier PPAP activities and performance. Support
project team for meetings and gate reviews to be able to share real
status of QM topics needed for launch throughout the project
stages. Implements customer specific and HBPO project requirements
within OPM Plants Manage all suppliers in aspects of Quality
Project Management for the project team (i.e. SOW, kick off
meetings, Process Capability, APQP, GD&T, PPAP, Gage RR, Run at
rate-line speed demonstrations for the project supply base, IMDS
etc…). Ensure on time supplier PPAP approval. Ensure customer
requirements are cascaded to suppliers. Manage Quality aspect for
the OPM Run at rate-for line speed (demonstration with Customer)
Authority to stop a process known to create non-conformances or to
hold a document known to be non-conforming. Responsibility to work
with Project team and Plants to resolve known issues or supplier
quality issues. Including performing safe launch checks and
supporting with builds at prototype stage/early builds. Provide
quality related project updates and feedback to Management
Responsibility to follow OPM Procedures, standards, work
instructions, and other directions. Creation, development and
implementation of project related documents like Safe launch,
inspection standard, inspection instructions, check fixture
instruction and training the plant team on these documents.
Participates and supports OPM Quality system activity as directed.
Responsibility to respond to customer requests efficiently, and
with enthusiasm, ensuring customer has a high level of confidence
when dealing with OPM employees, products, and services. Perform
any company related tasks as assigned by NAFTA Quality Manager and
Advanced quality manager Strong knowledge of check fixtures,
GD&T, Data analytics/ Dimensional reviews and APQP documents
and other requirements needed for successful launch of projects.
Responsible for RFQ (SOW), design, approval, MSA, buyoff and
customer approval for Holding and check fixtures for new projects.
Train plant quality on use of check fixtures. Responsible for
reviewing check fixture design and providing approval to suppliers
for their check fixtures. Learn and understand customer portals, be
able to monitor and respond to customer requests, APQP documents
and claims in their portal Understand and comply with company EHS
policy. Has authority to stop production in case unsafe working
conditions are observed. Has obligation to notify the superior and
HR for safety related matters requiring immediate attention. Review
customer pending transactions weekly with Project or Plant team.
Work with plant or project team to identify and define resolution
of issue(s) Strong problem-solving skills. Lead corrective action
for project related issues and document corrective actions with
proper 8D. Responsible to get deviation approvals from customer as
required. Responsible to ensure suppliers submit SEAR’s and are
approved as needed. Responsible for fully approved project handover
to plant. Support with supplier assessments, and closure of
findings Support monitoring of IATF 16949 standards and improvement
to the QMS Support IATF audits in NAFTA plants Support warranty
analysis and corrective actions as required Perform all duties in a
safe & environmental manner. Participate in creating a
safe-oriented work environment. Use PPE as required. Cooperation
with Human Resources in dealing with personnel matters. Other
duties as assigned. Required Experience/Skills: A combination of a
B.S. Degree (Quality or Engineering degree preferred) 5 years of
similar experience (or equivalent) AQE experience Enahnced
professional trainings on quality subjects preferred Working
Knowledge of Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) standards and
VDA a plus but not required IATF 16949, ISO14000 Experience with
VW, Tesla, GM, FCA, Audi and Ford Motor CO, automotive assembly
experience is a plus. Strong automotive assembly / molding
experience Problem solving, analytical skills. APQP, Core tools.
